About the Instructor:
My name is Sean Lee Myers and I have been teaching Martial Arts since 1999. I received my first black belt in Tang Soo Do in 2000. Since then I have gone on to receive a 3rd degree in Tang Soo Do, 1st degree in Han Mu Do, 5th gup in Ju-Jit Su and Yong Wa Rue. I also have been through many teaching seminars and classes. While rising through the ranks in Tang Soo Do I was considered the problem child. I did not pay attention in school or in Martial Arts. My crest is the phoenix because through Martial Arts and emulating my Instructor Ben Apolito, I learned self-control and overcame my extreme A.D.D. I am a strict instructor and expect the best from my students since I personally have seen how the discipline can change your life.
My Goal:
I feel like I had to push myself and teach myself to be where I am now.
I was brought up in a school of pride, hard work, and honor. That is until they changed locations and began losing tradition. Now they have 150+ students and have plans on expanding. While their goal might be to hit that 500 student mark, my goal by any means, is not money.  Until now I have taught for free. I worry more about raising prime Martial Artists and being able to say "I did that." My goal is to make Martial Arts hard again, make you work for your belt so you are proud of it, not because you paid for it. I push my students hard but in return they receive great focus and can learn in one class what they couldn't learn in a month in other schools. I teach what they need to know and we get it done. Give me your all and I will give you a black belt.
What You Need To Know:
I feel that every person is not cut out to be a martial artist. The form of Tae Kwon Do I teach demands strict obedience when following the "Do" part of the art. The priciples are demanding and fierce, yet I believe they are important in becoming a well rounded Martial Artist and person. Because of this I feel that you should be given two/three classes free to find out if this is what you are looking for. The way I have it set up is that one class will be devoted to teaching and training the body in a rigorous workout. The following class will be blended with kickboxing and more focused on learning how to defend yourself through sparring. This mix with blend the much needed traditions along with the ability to defend one's-self in a dangerous situation and keep up good health.
